Ben Michael Holdstock was born on 16th March
1989, taking up the drums at the age of 9. He took lessons
throughout primary school but didn’t manage to purchase
his first kit until 3 years later, whilst in his first year at Alcester
grammar school. That kit was legendary, costing £50 and
sounding like shit, but everything he hoped for.

From there the bands have come thick and fast, working the
skins for bands such as Silent Rage, My Friend Charlie
and others before things got serious around the age of 15,
starting grunge metal band Megacide with his partner
in crime Simon Rawlings. Ben began to find his sound through
experimenting in the practice room for hours. Megacide
eventually finished and Ben was left bandless for some
time, before spending a while as a vocalist for heavy
metal band Deficit, but soon the yearning for playing
the drums called him back.

A chance conversation at work saw Ben begin practicing
with Callum McCormick and John Rose (Labas) who would
eventually lead him into the path of Tom Blizzard, with whom
Ben quickly built up an immense musical rapport. Ben was
introduced to Kev by Tom, and now here we are. No chance
of explaining it all here, buy him a pint, he’ll tell you
everything………….make it a Guinness.
